What are your products made of?

All Aline3D products are made from PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol), a high-quality engineering plastic that offers an excellent balance of strength, durability, and safety for everyday household use.

Why do we use PETG?

We carefully selected PETG because it performs significantly better than many other common 3D printing materials, like PLA, for products that are used daily.

PETG offers several important advantages:

Strong and durable – It can withstand everyday use without becoming brittle.
Impact resistant – PETG is less likely to crack or break if it is accidentally dropped or bumped.
Slightly flexible – Instead of snapping under stress, PETG has a small amount of flexibility that helps improve its durability.
Moisture resistant – It is not affected by occasional contact with water or humidity.
Long-lasting – PETG maintains its strength and appearance over many years of normal use.

Why not PLA?

PLA is one of the most common materials used in 3D printing because it is inexpensive and easy to print. However, it softens at relatively low temperatures and is more brittle than PETG.

For functional products that are handled regularly, such as our chair accessories and stroller adapters, we believe PETG provides a much better combination of strength, reliability, and longevity.

Is PETG safe?

PETG is widely used in many consumer products because of its durability and stability. While our products are not intended for use as toys or as food-contact items, PETG is an excellent choice for functional household accessories.

As with any plastic product, avoid exposing it to open flames or extreme heat.

Will PETG last?

Yes. Under normal indoor use, PETG is an extremely durable material. Your Aline3D product is designed to provide years of reliable service without becoming brittle or losing its strength.
